Discuss:
Tinnitus refers to a situation where there is no sound in the external environment but a sound is heard. It is often described as a ringing sound, light tapping sound, light hissing sound or low roar, occasionally vague voice or music; tinnitus The sound heard may be soft or deafening, the pitch may be higher or lower, and it is possible to hear only one ear or both ears. As time passes, tinnitus often becomes more and more serious, and some people with tinnitus may feel depressed, anxious or have difficulty concentrating.
Tinnitus is not a disease, but a symptom that has many causes; the most common cause is hearing loss due to noise, and other causes include ear infections, cardiovascular disease, Meniere’s syndrome (commonly known as ear water Imbalance), brain tumors, psychological stress, exposure to specific drugs, trauma to the head, earwax; it is especially common in patients with depression.
At present, tinnitus is often classified into two types: other sensible tinnitus and self-conscious tinnitus.
Heterosensory tinnitus: In addition to the patient’s own hearing, others can also use instruments or even ears to hear the patient’s tinnitus complaint. This type of tinnitus is less common. The common cause of Heterosensory tinnitus is pulsation caused by vascular diseases Spastic tinnitus caused by muscular diseases (muscles near the ears);
Conscious tinnitus: There are many patients with tinnitus. The tinnitus can only be heard by the patient and cannot be heard by others. There are many causes. This kind of tinnitus can occur as long as there is an abnormality anywhere in the auditory conduction path, including external ear disease and middle ear disease, Inner ear diseases, auditory nerve and auditory nerve conduction path diseases (such as acoustic neuroma, brain stem vascular sclerosis, etc.), cerebral cortex diseases, etc. can all produce spontaneous tinnitus.
The neural mechanism of tinnitus is not fully understood, and it is generally believed to be related to abnormal changes in a certain part of the auditory channel.
About 10-15% of people suffer from tinnitus, most people with tinnitus are still tolerable, and only 1-2% of people with tinnitus will experience severe deterioration. There is no effective cure for tinnitus.
Western medicine medical treatment is similar to stroke. It is within 24 hours of onset, which is the golden period of treatment, and immediate medical attention is required within 2-3 days at the latest; Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment can be improved within one year (controversial, not yet confirmed by mainstream medical circles). Approximately 2% to 80% of patients have different feelings from person to person. The longer time, the more difficult to restore.
